1. Miami Beach: Visit the beach and go for a swim. South Beach is always top of the list for me. There is nothing like laying out, catching a tan, taking a dip in the ocean water, and having some drinks.
2. Club Mango’s: Club Mango’s has been in Miami for as long as I can remember. Tourists and locals all flock to Mangos for a fun night. The place is a full onslaught of entertainment all day and night long. If you want a fun night while flooding your senses with food, libation, and entertainment then this is a sure spot for any first-timer to Miami.
3. Voodoo Lounge: Most nights it’s free entry but the drinks and hookah get you a table depending on how busy it is that night. The demographics are obscure for this place. You can find young adults and 30 somethings all on the same night and the music ranges from Pop, Rap, and trap. It’s a cool place for hookah and chilling out on a slow night.
4. Havana 1957: This Cuban restaurant serves it up well when it comes to Cuban food. You can find almost every type of Cuban dish on the menu. The menu is moderately priced and full of flavor.
5. City sightseeing Miami: This is another great way to get around town besides by foot, trolley, or the many motorbike rentals. If you did not pre-purchase your ticket no need to worry. There are kiosks in many shops in the South Beach neighborhood. They can give you all the details and help make your stay more enjoyable.
6. Al Basha Grill: This small but convenient eatery is most definitely a stop during your stay in South Beach. If you are a fan of Mediterranean/ Halal food then this is your place. As far as I could discover it is the only place in South Beach that has a Halal menu. If you are ever in South Beach and need your fix of Halal food this is the spot. It’s very affordable, family-friendly and they serve Moroccan mint tea.
7. 11th Street Diner: This is a most definite for breakfast when in Miami. An old retro railroad car converted for serving food gives this place that real authentic Diner touch with booth tables and seats at the bar in front of the servers just like the movies. This is a place for all your comfort food needs when in Miami. When I’m in Miami this is where I go for the “American-style” breakfast.
8. Lincoln Road Mall: This is a definite place to visit if you want to shop. Plenty of popular brands, designer shops and sidewalk cafes. Some may dub it the 5th avenue of Miami but for me, it is more a minute version of Time Square with the shops and cafe’s but definitely worth walking through.
South Beach, Miami is a fantastic getaway to relax, blow off some steam, or family vacation. There are numerous items to fill your itinerary with. My favorite things to do in South Beach change with every visit. Until next time Miami. Keep it live!
